Dr. Edwards attended St. Stanislaus and graduated in 1982, then received his Bachelor of Science in 1986 from Millsaps College. After that, he attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1991. Following the completion of his schooling in 1991, Dr. Edwards began practicing in Gulfport that same year. He is a member of the American Dental Association®, the Mississippi Dental Association, and the Spear Study Club, and he meets with other dentists once a month to discuss cases and new techniques. Several times a year, he travels to the Spear Study Club campus in Scottsdale, Arizona, for continuing education courses.
In addition to being a dentist, Dr. Edwards is also a father of three children: Allen, Matthew and Ada. In his free time, Dr. Edwards enjoys working on cars, restoring and maintaining boats and being a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club.
Kathy graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College with a degree in Dental Assisting. She then attended University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill to complete the course work needed to facilitate earning her CDA status.
Still, Kathy is much more than our office manager. She provides the initial welcome to all incoming patients. She started as a Certified Dental Assistant and has held her current position for 17 years. Her concern for our patients is evident in the relationships that have been formed throughout several generations of patrons.
Not only does Kathy keep the wait time down for clients, but she helps them navigate the ever-changing insurance environment. She also sets up appointments both for clients and staff. Kathy also provides a sympathetic ear to all she meets and solves problems through any emergency. She considers all those who come into the office for treatment as members of her extended family.
Kathy and her husband of over 30 years, Jim, have a daughter who now attends veterinary medicine school at MSU, and a son who works for Park University in International Student Studies. He and their daughter-in-law live in Parkville, Missouri. Besides her human family, Kathy’s household also includes many rescued animals (horses, dogs, and cats).
Sabrina has been in our practice for 18 years now. Her role in our office is versatile, as she supports the front office as well as the clinical side of the office, which includes everything from ordering supplies to performing infection control duties. Sabrina, like the rest of the team, takes part in keeping our office running efficiently to meet the needs of our patients. It brings her great joy to assist Dr. Edwards as he restores the confidence of his patients by creating beautiful smiles.
While Sabrina adores our patients, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. She has two children, a son and a daughter.
Meet Samantha, our dedicated dental assistant who has been a valuable member of our dental team. Her journey in the dental industry began with a year of experience working diligently in the front office. However, her passion for providing direct care to patients led her to transition into an assisting role alongside our doctor for the following two years. Samantha's genuine enthusiasm shines through as she goes above and beyond to ensure that every patient feels at ease during their visit, making even the most anxious individuals feel comfortable in the dentist's chair. Samantha is currently pursuing further education to become a qualified dental hygienist.
